Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself as I am, then I change. Carl Rogers
Core Process Psychotherapy, established in 1982, is one of the original Mindfulness-based Psychotherapies. My personal experience of this therapy as a client has been life-changing. The experience of being met and held in a safe, compassionate environment enables us to process early trauma, to recognise where we might be perpetuating our suffering, and to meet ourselves with more kindness.

The approach combines Western modalities and Buddhist principles to deepen awareness. The focus of the therapeutic work is accessing our inherent health and wisdom rather than pathology. The work is done in the spirit of non-judgement and gentle enquiry. Core Process Psychotherapy is informed by Attachment Theory, is psychodynamic, integrative and relational.
Research shows that one of the most important aspects of psychotherapy is the relationship between the client and therapist. A strong relationship can help us to overcome the challenges we face in the present and to heal from painful events in the past.
